This large-scale drawing constitutes an installment of my ongoing series aimed at addressing my personal diasporic background as an immigrant from the Philippines. This artistic endeavour betrays a persisting dependence on resource materials. Notably, the image adjoined to my self-portrait depicts an indigenous mountain man hailing from the Northern Region of the Philippines. This image, among countless others, was captured by anthropologists and speculators hailing from the American and European continents. The present juncture signifies a profound parallelism between my experiential reality and my ongoing endeavours to delve into the intricate complexities of my own identity and where I currently reside.
